ABOUT THE HAVANESE BREED
Hair on both outer and undercoats is silky soft and comes in a variety of colours and patterns from white to shades of cream, champagne, gold, black, blue, silver or chocolate.
Non-shedding, hypoallergenic coat is like human hair and is odorless even when wet.
Hair can be kept natural and long or clipped short or mid-length.
Eyes are large, dark and oval shaped that give that “love me” appealing gaze.
Weighs from 8 to 16 pounds.
Walks and runs with a unique, springy gait
Happy, peaceful personalities make them excellent companions for children
Does well in all types of housing, from apartments to homes with large yards, as they can adapt their energy level to their owners
Nicknamed “Velcro dog” because they stick so closely to their owner’s side
Trainable and surprisingly energetic, and has excelled in dog sports such as agility, freestyle, obedience, and fly ball.
Good watchdog with a few deep barks when seeing someone passing by the house or hearing a strange noise but don’t bark needlessly.
Loves to watch the world from up high, and will find their way onto the backs of sofas and tables to watch the day pass by.
Havanese are new to the AKC and CKC but have been in existence in it's native Cuba for centuries as a treasured family pet
Parents have been health checked, vaccinated, CERF (Certified Eye Registration Foundation) tested, and hips vet-tested prior to breeding.
